Barstool Session: Sherry Week!

Barstool Session: Sherry Week!
Thursday 6th November / 7.30 to 9.30 / £45pp
Fresh from not one, but two recent trips to the place that Paul’s heart firmly resides, join him on Thursday 6th November to talk about all things sherry and celebrate Fourth and Church’s favourite time of the year, International Sherry Week!
Sherry Week is the largest annual festival of Sherry Wines in the world and returns for the 12th time on 3-9 November in over 30 countries.
Every year, the vibrant global Sherry community comes together for one week of gastronomical and cultural events that highlight the fortified wine’s versatility and variety, from the dry crispness of Fino to the velvety, rich sweetness of Cream. If you’ve spent more than five minutes talking to the team I’m sure you’ll have heard us talk about all of the virtues of sherry!
With a style of sherry to match every type of food, it’s an ideal opportunity to discover the full spectrum and their fascinating ageing process in the multi-barrel Solera and Criadera system.
Since 2014, more than 20,000 events have taken place worldwide and wine-lovers, from seasoned Sherry experts to recent converts, have explored its rich heritage and unique production, from vineyard to cask to pour. And more importantly… indulged in it.
Paul will be opening some pretty special bottles from his recent trips, and with the largest and revered sherry collection in the south coast you are in for a treat.
The evening will be hosted around the bar with four pours exploring the different faces of sherry from the saline bone, bone dry, to nutty richness and through to super sweet. It will be a fun filled evening with lots of chat about climate, soil and what makes sherry so diverse and such a great food wine.
We will of course include a tasty tapa/snack with each glass, but for those of you with an appetite for further snacking there will be our usual menu available, and of course the chance to double back on any of your favourite wines from the session.
An absolute steal at £45 per person for four pours and four wines. Be quick to grab a ticket as there are only 10 spaces available.
