Equipo Navazos: A Special Wine Tasting with Eduardo Ojeda

Join us for a truly special evening exploring the extraordinary wines of Equipo Navazos, one of Spain’s most celebrated independent Sherry bottlers.

We are delighted to welcome legendary Sherry aficionado and winemaker Eduardo Ojeda for an exclusive guided tasting of five remarkable wines, including rare bottlings that have been resting in our cellar.

Based in Jerez, Eduardo and co-founder Jesús Barquín have built Equipo Navazos into a cult name among wine lovers and collectors, uncovering exceptional wines from some of the region’s greatest bodegas. Their distinctive approach has helped redefine how the world understands and appreciates Sherry, shining a light on the individuality, provenance and character of each wine.

This is a rare opportunity to taste some truly special bottles in the company of one of the leading figures in the world of Sherry, hearing the stories behind the wines and gaining a deeper understanding of the craft, history and traditions that make them so fascinating.

The story behind Equipo Navazos

Founded in 2005, Equipo Navazos is best known for its La Bota series, a collection of individually numbered releases that celebrate the extraordinary diversity of wines from southern Spain.

Rather than operating a conventional bodega or owning vineyards, the team seeks out exceptional casks within established bodegas, selecting wines that express the character of their origins. Each release is documented in remarkable detail, from its source bodega and bottling date to the number of casks and total yield, a level of transparency that has helped set the project apart.

The range spans the full spectrum of Sherry styles, from Fino and Manzanilla to Amontillado, Palo Cortado and Oloroso, alongside exceptional wines from beyond the traditional Sherry triangle, including Montilla.

The chalky albariza soils of Jerez, the influence of the region’s climate and the intricate traditions of ageing all contribute to the extraordinary character of these wines. Through Equipo Navazos, Eduardo and his team bring some of the most compelling expressions of this heritage to a wider audience.

The evening

Your ticket includes a guided tasting of five wines, led by Eduardo Ojeda himself.

Our à la carte menu will also be available on the evening, giving you the opportunity to enjoy food alongside the tasting and make an evening of it!

Thursday 20th August, bookings Taken from 18.30

Join us for a special evening celebrating the wines of Passagem, hosted by Kit Weaver of Quinta de la Rosa and Passagem alongside Anna and Paul.

Kit’s family’s roots in the Douro stretch back more than 200 years. The family has been producing and shipping Port since the early 19th century and today owns Quinta de la Rosa, one of the valley's most respected estates. With a lifetime immersed in the wines of the Douro, Kit brings a wealth of knowledge, stories and passion for the region.

The Passagem project was born from a desire to showcase another side of the Douro. A collaboration between the Bergqvist family and acclaimed winemaker Jorge Moreira, Passagem focuses on expressive, elegant still wines from old vineyards in the Douro Superior.

Throughout the evening, we'll explore one of Portugal's most captivating wine regions, tasting four exceptional Passagem wines from the Douro Superior; the wild, dramatic eastern reaches of the Douro Valley, where some of the country's finest still wines are now being crafted.

We'll also delve into the region's rich history as the birthplace of Port, discovering how this remarkable landscape continues to produce world-class wines in every style.
Your ticket includes a guided tasting of four Passagem wines, with insight into the unique terroir of the Douro Superior, the story behind the Passagem project, and plenty of opportunity to ask questions along the way.

Throughout the evening, our full à la carte menu will be available, alongside a selection of special dishes inspired by some of the dishes tasted by Anna on her recent trip there, created exclusively for the event.

Whether you're already a fan of Portuguese wines or looking to discover why the Douro is one of Europe's most exciting wine regions, we'd love you to join us for an informal evening of great wine, delicious food and good conversation.

Nomadic Wine Making: An afternoon with Alex Brogan from Not Yet Named Co.

Nomadic Wine Making: An afternoon with Alex Brogan from Not Yet Named Co.

A Sunday afternoon for all of you wine enthusiasts out there!

Join Nomadic winemaker and our good friend, Alex Brogan, co-founder of Not Yet Named Wine Co, for an afternoon of enjoyment tasting wines from across the globe, complete with banging dish pairings.

Not Yet Named Wine Co. was started by Manuel Cerdeira and Alex when they were Plumpton Viticulture and Oenology students trying to find a way to fund making their own wine whilst studying at University. They never imagined the that it would turn into a community of wine-loving people; some of the members are studying for WSET qualifications, some have worked in the trade for years, some are winemakers themselves although most are just casual wine-drinkers who want the opportunity to drink a wine that they have helped to create.

The concept of the Not Yet Named Wine Co. is to sell wine before it is made (similar to en-primeur) and in return customers receive those bottles once they are ready in the UK. More intriguingly members get a vote on how they make the wine. Every time a winemaking decision is required, they are provided with (only good!) options to their members that affects the style, but not the quality, of the wine, along with all the advantages, disadvantages, risks, impact on flavour, etc.

For example, when choosing where to mature the wine, members can choose between a cleaner and fresher style aged in stainless steel or a more toasted and rounded wine from barrel aging. Each option is put to a vote and the majority wins! Members can also vote on some fun things, like the name of the wine (hence Not Yet Named Wine Co) and the label design etc.

This is an amazing opportunity to meet Alex, taste through some of his wines made in diverse places such as South Africa, Portugal, UK and California and have the chance to learn more about his innovative project and the inspiration behind the wines.

Tickets include four pours and four dishes and a dessert. There will be extra wines available of course to buy on the day!
