Fourth and Church is an independent, award-winning, wine-led restaurant and cocktail bar located in the affluent seaside town of Hove.
It also has a wide retail selection focusing on small, niche producers and low intervention wines.

Our small and friendly team is composed of passionate and knowledgeable individuals dedicated to continually improving our offerings, and we are seeking a full time ambitious and outgoing Front of House Supervisor with experience in wine and a genuine interest and passion for food and drink to help elevate the continued success of Fourth and Church.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with 100s of wines and fantastic food in a busy restaurant environment looking after our many regular, and new, guests and working alongside the Restaurant Manager, Bar Team and Owners.

Responsibilities
Collaborate with the management team to contribute to the overall success of the restaurant and shop operations, ensuring effective and efficient operations while upholding and driving service standards.
Demonstrate appropriate leadership skills while maintaining professional working relationships with the team through effective communication with management, kitchen and FOH team members.
Confident in opening and closing the shop/restaurant and to oversee day-to-day shop operations, ensuring adherence to exceptional housekeeping standards on and off the shop floor.
When leading a shift as the host, undertake all relevant tasks, including managing waiting staff, bussers, and kitchen porters to complete daily and weekly cleaning and maintenance tasks.
Undertake a range of duties essential for the smooth operation of the restaurant and bar, including drink preparation, table service, setup and close down, stock rotation, and cleaning the bar area.
Service of wine and other beverages to customers seated at the bar and tables.
Administration of menus and wine lists to include the finer detail relating to dietary restrictions
The upkeep of information and pricing on EPOS, Maximising reservations and optimising bookings
Wine Related Tasks
Serve wine and other beverages to customers seated at the bar or at tables.
Undertake a range of duties essential for the smooth operation of our bar, including drink preparation, table service, setup and close down, stock rotation, and cleaning the bar area.
Informatively and unpretentiously communicate our products available for table and retail off-sales, assisting in the delivery of information during briefings and training sessions.
Attend product tasting sessions both on and off-site.
Assist in managing the ‘back-end’ of the wine program, including tasks such as packing and unpacking deliveries, physically moving stock, pricing, cleaning, and cellar/bin management.

Hospitality or table service experience
